Positioned near the Sierra Nevada Trails, Westfield Galleria at Roseville wanted a play narrative that celebrated their region and fostered empathy for nature. 'The Trails' does just that, encouraging mini explorers to search for Sierra Nevada Blue Butterflies across four distinct areas, framed by Play9 murals representing local landmarks, flora, fauna and activities.

Kids will climb, crawl and pull their way over the 'Mountain Trail Burrow', before clambering over the shores of a mini 'Lake Tahoe' to the multi-storey centrepiece. They'll discover hidden animals: slide past Black Bears, (spin blocks to find what they eat), search for a hidden rattle snake, see like an owl with our Kaleidoscope Mask™ and help a flock of birds soar.

 

To conquer the 'Hiker Huts' peak, they'll have to navigate a twisted platform climb, or take the steeper rope trail to the top, before taking in the views with our Play9 Telescope™. The impressive window-lit slide offers a well deserved shortcut down.

Bordered by terrain-like seating mounds and our gorgeous Fir Trees™, 'Fallen Log Valley' offers a chance to calm the mind with balance beams and stumps.

Our most ambitious project to date, 'The Trails' combines a multitude of sensory, active and role play products, alongside subtly integrated branded sponsorship, to make a truly connected space that rewards curiosity and respects nature. Follow the butterflies, let them lead the way.
